The Ross Medical Education Center campus in Davison, MI has enjoyed for the last number of years the great privilege of working with Dr. James Bauer’s office. They have sent externs there from both the Medical Assistant and Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration programs as well as had graduates gain employment at the practice. Marji Montney, office manager at the practice, has been a member of the board and has proven herself and the office to be very hardworking and focused on quality for their employees and patients as well as the Ross students that have the opportunity to complete externship there. Students always get a very well-rounded experience at the growing, family-friendly office. All of them will tell you that Dr. Bauer is a great trainer and teacher and they have loved their externship experience in the office!

What do you like about Ross graduates?
I appreciate that they are typically fully prepared to complete the procedures that they’ve learned in school.
What is something you like about working with Ross?
We like to get Ross students right out of school because they are knowledgable and easily trained for our office.
How is the Career Services staff at Ross?
They are extremely helpful. We contacted Patty at Davison and told her we were desperately short-handed. Within 12 hours she had two resumes on my fax machine.
How would you describe your experience with having externs from Ross?
It is always exciting – for them and us!
Overall, how would you assess the success rate of Ross graduates?
I’ve had great success. I’d say our success rate is at least 90% with our Ross graduates.
What’s the main advantage of hiring a Ross graduate?
Again, they are easily trained and right out of school. They are definitely more knowledgeable coming from Ross than other schools. They can complete basic procedures and are able to do the general daily paperwork and work with patients.
If it weren’t for Ross graduates, how would your office be affected?
If it weren’t for Ross grads, our office would be in big trouble! About 60% of our staff graduated from Ross.
