Medical Assistant Recognition Week 2017

Medical Assistant Recognition Week 2017

Medical Assistant Recognition Week 2017Each year in the third week of October, every one of Ross Medical Education Center and Ross College campuses takes time to celebrate Medical Assistant Recognition Week. During the week, they acknowledge the incredible individuals that work as Medical Assistants as well as those students that are pursuing the field as a career through Ross’ Medical Assistant program. Every staff member, instructor, and student at Ross knows that medical assistants are indispensable members of the healthcare team, whether found in a doctor’s office, clinic, hospital, lab, or in a variety of other healthcare facilities.

Medical assistants are often the first faces that patients see in a healthcare facility, greeting them, showing them to their room, and even helping to explain a procedure. They then also act as a support to doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals during examinations, minor surgeries, and a variety of other clinical tasks.

Many of the tasks that medical assistants tend to are clinical in nature. However, they also can be found in almost any medical facility carrying out many administrative duties as well. They may be seen in an office completing medical filing and charting, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and taking care of many other routine tasks in a medical office.

It’s easy to see that medical assistants fill an essential position in each of the healthcare facilities they are found in. It’s this incredible share of the responsibility and all of the areas in which they support patients and other healthcare professionals that caused the American Association of Medical Assistants to declare the third full week of October as Medical Assistants Recognition Week. Ross campuses are thrilled to recognize the commitment and hard work of medical assistants and their own students in the Ross Medical Assistant program from October 16th through the 20th, specifically for Medical Assistant Recognition day today, Wednesday, October 18th.

Everyone at Ross wants to thank and honor every one of the dedicated and hardworking medical assistants out there helping to keep the healthcare system running and providing the all important support and patient care. Not only this, but we would also like to recognize all of the future medical assistants at each of our campuses. We are so very proud of all of our students and the high level of commitment they exhibit to the healthcare field and their communities. Make sure to thank the medical assistants in your life!
