The Ross Medical Education Center campus in Dayton, Ohio decided to support St. Vincent de Paul for the fifth year in a row. The campus is proud to partner with them, knowing that St. Vincent de Paul is an essential part of their community’s safety net for the homeless and impoverished. “We at Ross stand between them and want to support relief from the unimaginable situations that many from the Dayton area are experiencing,” shared Campus Director Beth Millard. “Ross stands behind St. Vincent de Paul and hopes that our charitable supplies, including clothing, toiletries, and food, will help many that struggle to reclaim their lives.”
Without the work, respect, dedication, compassion and effectiveness of St. Vincent de Paul and the Ross Dayton campus and their other community partners, thousands of lives would be impacted, and many could be lost. St. Vincent de Paul is a faith-based, non-profit serving the Greater Dayton Area. They aid the homeless and impoverished by providing emergency shelter, transitional and permanent supportive housing, food, clothing and household items, and guidance to leading a self-sustaining life.
Every year after Thanksgiving the barrels are placed throughout the campus so that many students, faculty and staff can contribute to this much needed cause. Throughout the month of December the barrels are filled with important items because of the thoughtfulness of so many individuals involved. Often they have to be collected and emptied on multiple occasions as they begin to overflow. Then the final collection of the barrels occurs on the first Thursday in January. The Ross campus is full of the excitement of giving to others. Many students have become so involved that they continue to bring in items each year even after they have graduated because of the caring and giving they want Ross to continue doing during the years to come.
