Ross Medical Johnson City Supports Children’s Advocacy Center

ross medical education center johnson city donates to childrens advocacy centerOne of the things that sets Ross Medical Education Center and its campuses apart is their commitment to their communities and those that need support within them. No matter what time of year it is, staff, faculty, and students make a point to get out into their local area and make a difference. Recently, the students at the Ross Medical Education Center Johnson City campus collected items to donate to the Children’s Advocacy Center.

The Children’s Advocacy Center is part of a network of national organizations that is committed to providing help, hope, and healing to child victims of physical and sexual abuse. The mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center is simple but profound. They strive to a voice to children who have experienced physical, mental, and sexual abuse. In order to be as effective as possible, they work with law enforcement and child protective services. They then partner together to provide a safe environment for children who have experienced abuse to tell their story in the least traumatic way possible.

The cookies, crackers, and juice drinks the campus collected and donated will be given to the children who come into the office to give a statement about their experiences. The campus chose this as their community service project after consulting with someone in the area that works with nonprofit agencies and it was suggested that there was a need for donations of this nature. They hope that their snacks and small gesture of support will offer some comfort and normalcy to the children that come through this organization.
