Ross Medical Education Center Taylor Commencement 2015

Taylor Celebrates Graduate Accomplishments

Ross Medical Education Center Taylor Commencement 2015An annual event that many in the Ross Medical Education Center community look forward to is the Commencement Ceremony that takes place each spring. This year, the Taylor campus held their graduation celebration for their 2014-2015 graduates at Flat Rock Community High School. It was an exciting day and filled with fun, celebration, and looking into the future for each of the graduates and their families. The staff and faculty loved seeing their graduates, the graduates loved seeing former classmates, and swapping stories of working out in the field.

Ross Medical Education Center Taylor Commencement 2015To kick off the festivities, Campus Director Regina Newell took the stage and had the great privilege of welcoming the graduates, staff, faculty, family members, and friends. Then, the chosen graduate speaker, Ebonee Smith, was able to share her personal story about her life before Ross, her experience during the program, and her current job as a Medical Assistant. Because of her very positive experiences and the quality of education she received, she ended her speech by encouraging anyone looking to make a change in their life to “make the call” to Ross.

After the graduate speaker, the campus welcomed two special guest speakers to the stage. Both Shalita Love, Medical Assistant from Pavilion Imaging Center, and Daphne Kasprzak, Office Manager from My Family Doctor, shared words of congratulations with the graduates, encouraging them to continue to pursue their dreams. Finally, the moment that they had been waiting for came. Pam Kowalski, Assistant Campus Director of Education, presented outstanding academic and attendance awards to Hannah Pinski, Bethany Wertz, Melissa Whitely, and Heather Diel.

Ross Medical Education Center Taylor Commencement 2015Other special awards were also distributed. This year, the Taylor campus was very proud and honored to have had two students win the Michigan Association of Career Colleges and Schools scholarship award. This is quite the achievement considering that the organization only chooses 12 students each year from all the career colleges and schools in the state. However, both Amber Ducharme and Gerlie Bolitho were recipients of this prestigious award. Not only that, but another student, Ebonee Smith, received an honorable mention. Following the ceremony, graduates and guests were invited to enjoy a cake and punch reception. The staff and faculty could not be more proud of each and every graduate and they look forward to next spring and celebrating the next round of Ross graduates!
