Medical Assistant Program
The Medical Assistant program at Ross Medical Education Center can be completed in just 30 weeks for day students and 36 weeks for afternoon and evening students. The program provides instruction on basic human anatomy and physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, first aid, assisting with examinations, and performing procedures. Instructors also give direction on administrative office skills including medical charting and filing, basic word processing and computer information, customer service skills, and various other routine medical office procedures. After successfully completing the program, students should be prepared to work in entry-level positions in a physician’s office, clinic, or other medical setting. Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration Program
The Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program at Ross Medical Education Center can be completed in just 30 weeks for day students and 42.5 weeks for evening students. Students receive direction from experienced instructors on basic human anatomy and physiology, disease processes and the associated pharmacotherapy, and medical terminology. They are also instructed on administrative skills including medical charting and filing, financial recordkeeping, proper completion of medical insurance claim forms, and other routine medical office procedures. Graduates of this program should be prepared to seek entry-level employment in positions such as Medical Receptionist, Medical Secretary, Billing Clerk, Billing Specialist, Patient Account Representative, and Patient Services Representative. Dental Assistant Program
The Ross Medical Education Center Dental Assistant program can be completed in just 36 weeks on the 4 days per week schedule or in 30 weeks on the 5 days per week schedule. Instructors with experience in the field provide instruction to students on many necessary skills including radiograph processing, preparing and disposing of anesthetic, taking and recording vital signs, and taking impressions. Additionally, students are presented with important terminology and basic administrative tasks such as preparing a new patient chart, filing medical records, scheduling appointments, and completing dental insurance claim forms. Once students successfully complete the program, they should be prepared to seek entry-level positions as Dental Assistants, Dental Receptionists, Dental Insurance Clerks, Dental Supply Salespeople, and/or Administrative Assistants. Pharmacy Technician Program
The Pharmacy Technician program at Ross Medical Education Center can be completed in just 36 weeks. Students in this program will be instructed on how to function as an assistant to a licensed pharmacist including the standards of pharmacy ethics and law, microbiology, pharmaceutical and medical terminology, dosages, and both trade and generic names of drugs. Experienced instructors will also direct students in performing essential functions related to drug procurement and inventory control, manufacturing and packaging operations, compounding procedures, using pharmacy software, and much more. Veterinary Assistant Program
The Veterinary Assistant program at Ross Medical Education Center can be completed in just 36 weeks. Students will be instructed to function as an assistant to a Veterinarian and/or Veterinary Technician with an understanding of veterinary ethics and law, animal anatomy and physiology, terminology, animal care activities, and technology and equipment used. Experienced instructors will give direction on software used, medical records and documentation, and administrative/clerical procedures and duties. Practical Nursing Program
The Practical Nursing diploma program, offered only at Ross College in North Canton, Ohio, provides the student with the opportunity to acquire principles and knowledge from the biological and behavioral sciences as well as the science of nursing. This knowledge forms the basis for utilizing the nursing process in the field of practical nursing. Concurrent integration of theory into clinical practice is an important aspect of practical nursing education. Practical nursing education prepares the graduate to pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for practical nursing. Practical nursing graduates prepared to seek entry-level positions as members of a health care team in hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health, and a variety of other health care areas. Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
The Occupational Therapy Assistant associate degree program, offered only at Ross College in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Ross College in Quad Cities, Iowa, can prepare you for the opportunity to help improve the quality of a person’s life and ability to perform daily activities through rehabilitative exercises and activities. Veterinary Technology Program
The Veterinary Technology associate degree program, offered only at Ross College in North Canton, Ohio, is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills leading to entry-level employment in a variety of veterinary clinical settings and related fields. Graduates of this program will be prepared to provide a wide range of clinical skills including animal patient care, laboratory procedures, medical imaging, anesthesia administration and monitoring, and surgical assistance for a variety of domestic animals.
